PagoNxt Payments

From The Cocktail, I led the collaboration with PagoNxt Payments, the global payments unit of Santander Group, supporting various teams in the definition, design, and evolution of several key solutions. Our work focused on improving strategic platforms with direct impact on international financial processes and PagoNxt’s global payment offering, aimed at both large corporations and educational institutions. One of the main areas of focus was OneTrade FX, a platform specialised in currency exchange between different currencies. This solution enables the calculation and locking of margins for spot operations, providing companies with greater control, transparency, and predictability in their international transactions. I was involved in the conceptualisation and development of this tool, with a clear focus on enhancing user experience and operational efficiency, ensuring that the platform’s technical and regulatory complexity was translated into a clear, usable, and secure interface for end users. I also led the support work on EMI (Electronic Money Institution), a centralised payments solution that PagoNxt offers to universities around the world. This platform includes a private portal and tools for managing both local and international transfers, facilitating the handling of tuition fees, scholarships, and other recurring payments across various markets. From the design stage, we focused on delivering a robust experience tailored to multicultural contexts, ensuring scalability and regulatory compliance in all active regions. As a result of this joint work, PagoNxt Payments has achieved significant operational cost savings, exponential growth in transaction volumes, and a marked improvement in the traceability and efficiency of international payments. Additionally, the emphasis on automation, clear operational visibility, and proactive incident management has been key to reinforcing their predictive, scalable, and user-centred approach.
