Description

We developed a new way of visualising the logistics operation, fully integrated with the commercial process, enabling users to maximise the economic impact at any stage of vehicle transport and distribution. The challenge was to design a platform that would centralise the management of operations for the assets Astara handles from origin to destination, through the Control Tower solution. This tool needed to graphically represent all operational data, enabling exception-based management of any incidents. First, we defined a global end-to-end vision, from factories to dealerships via any transport method, evolving towards a Control Tower model that is automated, predictive, near real-time and always on. Then, we built a shared vision to coordinate control and monitoring actions, as well as to connect with incident resolution processes. Finally, we integrated capabilities to provide real-time geolocation of assets (WoW), and through an operational dashboard, monitor the status of the operation using near real-time performance indicators. We designed and developed an application capable of efficiently managing the transport of over 200,000 assets (cars, lorries, vans, etc.) distributed worldwide, in real time. This solution integrates logistics data (generating alerts and facilitating resolution) along with commercial information, enabling the management of the asset distribution pipeline. The platform has achieved a 45% reduction in operational and incident management times, as well as a one-month decrease in reception lead times. It also offers a much clearer view of the origin, destination, and final customer of each asset managed by Astara, has reduced average incident handling times from five minutes to just thirty seconds, and has enabled the automation of alert resolution, removing the need for human intervention in recurring cases.
